Group Fitness Instructors

Meet The MAC’s awesome group ex staff, and try out some of our amazing classes.

Amy

Amy has a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Human Resources and Studies with background in Rehabilitation.  Amy has been a Group Fitness Instructor since 2001.  She has Certifications in Spinning, Strong, Senior Fit, and High Intensity Interval Training.  At Melbourne Athletic Club, Amy teaches Group Cycling and Body Blast.

Ashley

Ashley has been an ACE certified group fitness instructor for six years. She started her fitness career in Jacksonville, but then headed to the opposite coast in Portland, OR, where she added a Personal Training Certification to her resume working with everyone from athletes to seniors. She can easily transition from high-energy group cycle classes, as a Keiser Certified instructo,r to leading yoga practice where she guides her participants through moving mindfully and purposefully in order to connect the mind and body. Her favorite hobbies include riding bikes in the mud, rolling around on the floor and studying human anatomy and movement. Join Ashley for yoga at The MAC at 11 am on Thursdays.

Cara

Cara is a Melbourne native who has been teaching yoga and practicing holistic health for over 10 years. She teaches dynamic yoga classes carefully designed to develop self-awareness, build strength, increase mobility, and balance the nervous system. Practice with her at The MAC on Fridays at 11 am.

Cathy

Cathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition from Florida State University. She has been a Group Fitness Instructor since 2000 and is AFAA and Strong certified. Cathy teaches Muscle Fit on Monday afternoons.

Ciara

Ciara is a devoted ACE Certified Fitness Instructor and Health Coach. She is a graduate of Florida Institute of Technology and earned a MBA and Masters of Science in Accounting and Financial Forensics after graduating with a Bachelors in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has been active in sports her entire life, and currently participates in marathons (qualifying for Boston in 2020), yoga, dance fitness and weight lifting. She has a passion for making client’s fitness goals enjoyable through energetic group training classes that bring every client success!

David

David is a licensed Zumba instructor  who believes that fitness is an investment in your future and should be enjoyable.Through dance, David has lost 50 lbs and has had a blast doing it! He gained confidence, friends and a passion for helping people achieve their fitness goals.  His dance classes at The MAC are a high energy, high calorie burning party!!!

Gisela ( GIigi)
A certified Zumba Instructor, Gigi considers herself an outgoing and optimistic person, and everything she does, she does with love. “I like to convey joy and the desire to live to all those around me, helping them to lift their spirits and to continue giving all the best that we are as human beings.” Gigi see dancing as a means of connecting with the pleasure of living.  “Zumba is one of the best therapies, not only to keep ourselves physically connected to our mental health, but to encourage and feel happy.”  Join Gigi for Zumba at The MAC on Fridays at 9:45 am.

Grace

While earning her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, Grace obtained her Personal Training Certification.  She loves one-on-one training, but grew to love group fitness as well while leading our MAC Attack Boot Camp Classes.  She loves the energy working with a group brings. Her favorite type of workouts are strength training, HIIT and yoga.

Hannah

Hannah is a 200-hour trained and certified yoga instructor and has been teaching for almost two years.  She is academically trained in anatomy and physiology, with a recent acceptance to a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program to further her education.  She brings in-depth knowledge of the human body, and its nuances from one person to the next, into each and every class she teaches. She found yoga a decade ago as a means to lose weight, but stuck with it because of its healing properties. ” Yes, it’s a wonderful form of exercise, building strength and fitness, but it is also an important practice in meeting your body where it is and being grateful for how hard it already works for you.”

In her classes at 7 pm on Mondays, you can expect a well-rounded, challenging physical practice while moving with a mindful connection to your breath and gentle reminders to slow down and rest when you need.

Heidi

Heidi has been a Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer for over 15 years. She has taught a variety of classes throughout her career, including Body Pump, Step, TRX, Boot camp and HIIT. She is a certified Spinning instructor and encourages people to test their physical limits. She has created a class that is safe and supportive of all levels. She is energetic, enthusiastic and gets the most out of her rides.

Jana

Jana is natural from Brazil, and at an early age discovered her love for fitness and wellness. Moving to USA did not stop her desire to help and inspire others, she became a certified fitness instructor, and for the past 15 years she has being sharing her passion with love and enthusiasm!

Jarrod

Jarrod is certified my hip hop fit instructor, AFAA certified, and holds a current CPR.  He has been teaching since 2012 and teaches Hip Hop at The MAC.  He is constantly looking to improve his dancing by challenging himself daily.  He collaborates with other choreographers to keep his classes diverse. Jarrod also subs yoga at The MAC, he is a passionate about stretching and is continuously seeking better ways to stretch his class, when teaching Yoga or at the end of his hip hop classes.

Jill

Jill has been active in the health and fitness industry since 1994 and fitness management since 1998. She earned her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science/Wellness from Ball State University in Muncie, IN and a Masters of Health Services Administration (MHA) from the University of St. Francis.  Jill is an ACE certified Health Coach, ACE certified Personal Trainer; ACE certified Medical Exercise Specialist (CMES), AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor, certified TRX instructor as well as Peak Pilates trained in Reformer/Chair classes. She has completed the Wellcoaches® core health and wellness coach training program.  Jill has been a Keiser National Master Trainer since 2008, teaching and presenting cycling courses and workshops throughout the country. Jill is currently teaching Group Cycling at The MAC on Fridays at 6 am.

Julie

Julie has been instructing group fitness for over 10 years. She teaches MAC Attack Bootcamp and Yoga classes at the MAC and enjoys subbing other class formats including dance, Pilates and Body Blast.

Katie

Katie has her Master of Science degree in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years.  Katie has been a Group Fitness Instructor since 2000 and has received certifications in Spinning, Strong and BodyPump.  At The Melbourne Athletic Club, Katie teaches Group Cycling at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Kristy

Kristy became an AFFA certified Group Fitness Instructor nine years ago, when she started teaching Zumba. She added Barre Fusion classes to her schedule seven years ago, and also teaches Dance Mania at The MAC.  She absolutely loves dance fitness and the benefits for the body and mind. She has 25-years of experience teaching ballet and dance, and brings that level of knowledge and expertise to her Barre classes.  Kristy believes Barre classes are an excellent way to work the entire body, increase flexibility and create long and lean muscles with a low risk of injury.

Lana

Lana was born and raised right here on the Space Coast and has been teaching Pilates for two years.  She has a passion for this discipline of exercise and its focus on the mind/body connection.  Lana loves to help people discover muscles they never knew they had!  Join her for Pilates every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

Mary

Mary has been AFAA and Keiser certified since 2014.  She teaches Group Cycling and MAC Attack at the MAC, but you can find her subbing other formats as well.  With a degree in Journalism/Advertising, she also writes monthly articles for the Health Section of Florida Today. Being a group fitness instructor is “the best job she’s ever had” and she loves to help participants be the best version of themselves.

Noelle

Noelle is certified in yoga and Pilates, and has over thirty years of ballet experience.  She teaches several Barre classes at the MAC which is a fusion of ballet, Pilates, and yoga.

Rachael

Rachael has been teaching in the industry for over 6 years. She is a certified AFAA instructor who has taken courses in Zumba, Strong by Zumba, Yoga, Keiser (Cycling), and Group resistance training. Currently at the MAC she teaching Cycling, Yoga and Zumba.

Steve

Steve has a Bachelor of Science from NC State University in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science from University of Florida in Electrical Engineering. He currently works as a marketing manager for electronic components for space applications. He has been an indoor cycling instructor since 2014, and is currently teaching MAC Attack Bootcamp at The MAC on Fridays at 0545.
